Fire Resistance Rating
Flame‑Spread Class
Class A (0–25): Optimal grade, extremely slow flame spread, highest fire resistance.
Class B (26–75): Moderate grade, slow to moderate flame spread.
Class C (76–200): Lower rating, with relatively fast flame spread.
Common testing standards include ASTM E84 / UL 723, NFPA 255, IBC, etc.
Ignition‑Resistant / Flame‑Retardant
Indicates that the material has been treated to resist ignition and is difficult to ignite by sparks.
Fire‑Resistance Rating
Indicates the time that a structure or panel can maintain its integrity and thermal insulation properties in standard fire tests (such as ASTM E119, BS EN 1364) (e.g., 1 hour, 2 hours, etc.).
Non-combustible materials / Class A1-A2 / Class B1
In European/DIN standards:
A1/A2: non-combustible or almost non-combustible, very safe;
B1: flame retardant;
B2/B3: ordinary or flammable.

FAQ
What is a Class A Flame-Spread Rating, and why is it important?
Class A (0–25) is the highest fire performance classification for surface burning characteristics, indicating extremely slow flame spread. Our high-density wood fiber boards achieve a Class A flame-spread rating when tested per ASTM E84 / UL 723, NFPA 255, or IBC standards, ensuring superior fire safety for building interiors and exteriors.
Are your panels ignition-resistant or flame-retardant?
Yes. Our products are treated to be ignition-resistant, meaning they resist ignition from small flames or embers. This makes them suitable for use in Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) zones and compliant with regulations requiring reduced fire spread risk.
How do your products perform under European fire standards?
Our high-density wood fiber boards achieve excellent performance under European testing (EN 13501-1), typically rated Class B or higher (e.g. B-s1,d0), with some products qualifying for Class A2 — indicating very limited contribution to fire.
